CHIVAS USA SIGNS COLOMBIAN FORWARD JOSE ERICK CORREA
Correa will join fellow country-men Juan Pablo Angel and John Valencia
CARSON, Calif. (Tuesday, April 17, 2012) – Chivas USA announced today that the club has signed Colombian forward, Jose Erick Correa. The 19 year-old most recently played for Boyacá Chico FC of Colombia’s Professional First Division League, where he is currently ranked second-leading goal scorer. Per League and team policy, details of the contract were not revealed.
“He’s a great young talent that will come and help us right away, and also learn a lot from our experienced forwards like Juan Pablo Angel and Alejandro Moreno,” commented Chivas USA General Manager Jose Domene. “He is a player that is very interesting because he’s big, strong and fast. He’s young so we look forward to having him around for many years. He is currently the second leading scorer in Colombia (Liga Postobón), when we first looked at him he was leading the league, and he just received a call up the Colombian National Team, so that is great for us and for him.”
