CHIVAS USA TEAMS UP WITH CITY OF HAWTHORNE FOR FIREWORKS SAFETY DEMONSTRATION
Chivas USA’s Zarek Valentin to help City officials to highlight the importance of fireworks safety
during Fourth of July holiday weekend
CARSON, Calif. (Monday, June 27, 2011) –With festivities for the fourth of July only a few days away, Chivas USA’s Zarek Valentin will join officials from the City of Hawthorne for a fireworks safety pep talk aimed at creating awareness around the dangers of the improper use of fireworks. Led by City of Hawthorne Mayor Pro-Tem Alex Vargas, members of the Hawthorne Police Department, and the LA County Fire Dept. officials, Valentin will be on hand to address dozens of local children, youth and community members and remind them of how to have a fun, and safe holiday celebration.
The event will begin with general remarks by City officials, Assistant Fire Chief Barry Nugent, Battalion Chief Dennis Cross, Fire Station 161 and Dr. Murthy bum safety expert from Torrance Memorial Hospital. Emergency vehicles, Fire trucks and safe and sane fireworks will be on site for kids to interact led by the County of Los Angeles Fire Department.
