Fury Defeats Wallin With Unanimous Decision

Tyson Fury (record) was not a tad bit shy to move up his agenda 4 weeks; to fight on Mexican Independence Day Weekend in Las Vegas, NV making the entrance of the year. The colossal Englishmen paying tribute to the patriotic holiday entered dressed in a sarape and sombrero accompanied by special effects and a Mariachi who performed “El Rey” by popular Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez. “The Gypsy King” introducing himself as “El Rey de los Gitanos” this weekend stating at the press conference he had been learning Spanish and would be the biggest Mexican fighter of the night.
The co-feature of the night Navarete vs. Elorde gave the fans a feel of the excitement to come in the main spectacle of the night when the referee Russell Mora made a decisive stoppage in the 4th round awarding the victory to Navarrete.
The main event of the evening started with Wallin (record) putting pressure on Fury (record) in the first 3 rounds of the fight. While so, with a blow from Wallin a gruesome gash above Tyson’s right eye caused serious issues onwards from the 3rd round prompting repeated checks from the ringside doctor.
It would be safe to say the fight was saved by Tyson Fury’s cutman Jorge Capetillo who was able to clean the cut successfully and stop the flow of blood from 2 cuts on Fury’s right eye every chance he got.
Otto Wallin trying to take advantage of the gash on Fury attempted to poke at the cuts many times during the 6th round, “I tried to hit it even more… I was happy that he was cut but I wish I could have put more pressure on it.” With Capetillo in Fury’s corner the bout was able to last the 12 rounds.
In the end, the judges ruled in a unanimous decision in favor of Tyson Fury. “It was a good performance I got 12 rounds in”. Fury with good sportsmanship congratulated Otto, “Congrats to Otto- and God Bless his father and let him rest in peace. He would be very proud of Otto’s performance. The Viking Warrior!”
